We’ve done just about every kind of design and project since 1998. Some of our services include irrigation installations/repair, lawn maintenance, fountain and pond installations, creation of outdoor living spaces, and outdoor lighting. A Glimpse At Our Process
Discovery:
You want your idea to become a reality. So, what do you do first? Before picking up the phone to call Green South, start by asking yourself this question: What do I want the space to be used for? Kids to play, cookouts, tranquility, dogs to be free outdoors, etc. This is a great starting point and something to know before you call.
Fast forward – now Green South is actively involved in the discovery phase. With years of experience, we will help guide you with the helpful tips we have learned along the way. For example different turf types are useful for different activities, some shrubs are hardier than others, correct irrigation can make or break the longevity of the design, choosing to add outdoor lighting can add just the right pop you're looking for to bring everything to life at night. Design
Now that we’ve laid the groundwork of essential elements for the project, it’s time to dream and design! Green South’s advice to you: dream inside your budget. We help by giving estimated costs, but it's ultimately up to you what you are willing to invest in your project. Green South believes that if you can’t afford it, you won’t enjoy it. What we mean is if your project turns into a financial stressor then it loses its element of joy and fun. Work within your means, and we promise to provide the best possible outcome within your budget.
During the design phase we work with you to picture the perfect outcome. Together, we map out every detail from plant placement, lighting placement, material type, etc. When it comes to products, it’s important to remember that the products you choose can drastically change the cost or look of the project. We offer knowledgeable advice to help you make the best decision for your design. For example, adding irrigation installation costs ~15-20% of a landscape budget, hard-scape can run 50-60%, lighting around 25%-40%. These items make a project much more expensive but way more enjoyable.
Sometimes, a little can go a long way.
The Waiting Period
This is an important part of the project, but maybe not the most exciting, for the customer. You’ve dreamed, designed, and put a lot of thought into this project. But then there is this period of time where you are waiting for the dream to become reality. So, what’s up with that?
Behind the scenes, Green South is hard at work finalizing details. We ask for a deposit from customers so we can order all necessary materials. Our goal is to place orders as soon as possible to reduce the wait time for you. Sometimes other contractors need to visit your property before we can get to work; this also takes time. However, every step in the process is worth the wait! Once these final items are checked off the to-do list everything moves quickly.
Install
We have finally arrived at the install phase. This is one of my favorite parts because I get to watch your dream become a reality. There is life and energy in getting rid of the old and replacing it with something new. We love to watch our customers light up about their finished product. We see shock and awe when a customer uses their new automated irrigation system to tend to their lawn investments. We see excitement and joy when a customer drives up to their home and sees a beautiful outdoor lighting display. With every project, our hope is to leave customers feeling satisfied in their home and for it to be a place perfect for their family.
